Principal Engineer Job Opening

Job Title: Principal Engineer (Austin, TX)
Minimum Education Qualifications: BS Eng/CS + 4 – 5 yrs; OR MS Eng/CS + 3 – 4 yrs related experience required.
Brief Description of Duties/Minimum Requirements: This position is located in Austin, Texas. Travel (12-18 trips/yr.) to customer sites or training assignment is likely.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Working directly with customers or Emerson Technical Support and development engineers on technical solutions to DeltaV Power and Grounding issues
- Providing input to Technology on the requirements for DeltaV System installation guides and other documentation
- Being responsible for training other support engineers in the areas of DeltaV power and grounding issues
Important Experience:
- Must be able work directly with end user resolving installation
- Must have 8 years experience in either design, maintenance, or troubleshooting power and grounding systems for instrumentation
- Must have knowledge of appropriate meters and tools (Scopes, Megger, meters)
- Knowledge of Foundation Fieldbus installation is desired
- Knowledge of environmental monitoring in regard to instrumentation is desired
- Knowledge of network installation, grounding, troubleshooting is desired
Previous Experience/Skills: Minimum 5 years experience in industrial power and grounding for instrumentation. Experience may be any combination of design, installation, or troubleshooting. Must be current with applicable standards and codes.
