Operational Excellence Begins Here
In a very real way everyone in a manufacturing business is involved in operational excellence. You may be achieving it, striving for it, or perhaps only impeding it. It is easy to understand operational excellence in the abstract, but what the heck does it mean in terms of day-to-day activities? Where do you start?
Emerson's Michalle Adkins' primary business is consulting on manufacturing operational excellence practices. She developed a concise approach to addressing this challenge in an article published in Chemical Engineering magazine's March issue titled, Operational Excellence Begins Here. In this piece she describes what OpX is, provides a practical step-wise methodology for pursuing it, and shows how implementation of this program can benefit manufacturers. She includes an example table that you can use to categorize and show results possible from a program to make communication or results to management easier. (264KB PDF)
