Modernise to Optimise
Shell Deer Park Refinery’s modernization with digital technologies is featured in the April Hydrocarbon Engineering. The article Modernise to Optimise describes the hot cutover of their most critical units, including the catalytic cracker, over to the DeltaV system and PlantWeb digital plant architecture, with no downtime. Shell Deer Park now has the network of predictive technologies in place to improve overall process availability, critical given the limited overall refining capacity in the United States. Emerson served as the main automation contractor for this $125 million project. (204KB PDF)
